Donation Q&A
We accept all forms of donations (objects, photos, documents, textiles, etc.)
Artifacts we prioritize preserving are ones relating to the original Colorado City pre-annexation (1917). However, we consider other donations on a case-by-case basis. If you have an item we might be interested in, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Other areas of interest include the greater Westside neighborhood 1917-present, early El Paso County, and the surrounding areas.
Unfortunately, due to storage constraints we cannot take large donations. When in doubt, contact us, though!
We accept donations by appointment only. A Collections volunteer must be present to make an educated decision on whether a donation is suited for our collection or not.
Please fill out the form above telling us about your donation and we will get back to you ASAP. We can also set up appointments through email.
We may make exceptions under certain emergency circumstances.
There is no guarantee that your donation will go on display. That's left up to our display curation volunteer. However, most of our items have gone on display at some point.
Our collection serves a much bigger purpose than just display too. Researchers and volunteers use our collection for historical research almost every day!
